Qur'an Institute
Sydney Islamic College has introduced a Qur'an Institute to service the needs of those who wish to read and recite the Qur'an.
Instructed by Shaykh Anas Burhan (who holds an Ijaza to teach Qur'an), the institute will focus on 4 levels:
Level 1
This level will be conducted over 20 weeks and will develop the students to identify the Arabic Alphabet and grammar. On completion of this level, students will be able to read the Qur'an with simple Tajweed rules.
Level 2
Students will be reading directly from the Qur'an. All Tajweed rules will be taught to the students. On completion of this level, students will have memorised all Tajweed rules and will be confident to read Qur'an out loud and will be encouraged to sit in Qur'an circles in the Masjids.
Level 3
Students will assist other students practising their Tajweed and recitation skills and commence memorisation of the Qur'an.
Level 4
This level will be for those who have mastered the Tajweed rules and would like to start learning the skills of being a Qur'an instructor and memorising in order to receive an Ijaza for teaching others to read the Qur'an.
